The Journey
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Wynda is a self-taught, multifaceted artist who’s passion for creativity began at the early age of three. Art has always been an intrinsic part of her life, from excelling in portrait painting in her final year in high school, where she won first place, to exploring realistic sculpting while assisting in her mother’s ceramic business. Despite pursuing a corporate career for twenty years working her way up from personal assistant to accountant, her love for art never faded in her free time. Later she transitioned to corporate branding marketing and advertising design along with photography organising corporate events, allowing her to blend her creative and businesses skills.
When Covid-19 reshaped the world, she embraced art full time completing numerous private commissions. Once restrictions were lifted, she opened an art gallery for women at Vredenheim Wine Farm. This space showcased work from six artists including her own. Celebrating the power of female creativity and supporting each other. Though the gallery closed she continued creating customised pieces for her clients who sought original and unique artwork that resonated with them.
With 20 years in corporate and 14 years in the modeling and fashion industry she has huge goals for the future expanding her dreams onto garments and host retreats.
Recently she has transitioned back to photography, not as a separate art form but as integral part of her creative process. Due to her passion shooting everything that catches her eye in nature like a small flower that emerges from a solid rock, herself discovery and transformative journey has let her to photograph women to empower them. Capturing their essence in a way that reflects their strength and beauty just like that tiny flower. Furthermore, Wynda transforms the client’s favourite photograph into a painting, a timeless piece that’s serves as a daily affirmation of their resilience, worth and uniqueness.
“I see art as an extension of self expression for others to transform and why I take my art beyond the canvas and into everyday life. Art is more than just a visual experience. It’s a story, a feeling, a connection. I strive to create experiences that not only captivate but also uplift, empower and inspire.”
